Gotta agree with Vice

Just about everything here is well-done -- the song progresses nicely and has good dynamics (it also loops pretty effectively, which I didn't notice until halfway through this review), but the kick is pretty weak. EQ that a bit before the final song and you're in good shape.

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

thanks :)

I like where this is going

This is a solid foundation for a good trance song. The final quality of the song is, of course, going to be dependent on what you do with this, but it sounds like you're on the right track.

This song needs more attention

Sounds like it could've been taken right out of MGS4 (or [insert other action game/movie here], I guess)...but I guess that's the funny thing, I'm not picturing a wintery scene with the song at all, except at the beginning and end, but the song still works without that expectation. 5/5.

Devastus responds:

Yeah, I believe I focused too much on the action-feeling in the middle instead of maintaining the winter feeling there. Though I guess when you're running for your life you don't think about where you're running (a lame excuse) :P.

Thanks for the review man.

Not bad

It's not something I would normally listen to, but it does have a lot of ambience going for it. As I'm listening to it, I could easily imagine it being used in an action-based Flash. Given that that's pretty much the point of the audio portal, I'd say this is pretty good.

The only parts that are a bit iffy in my mind are the couple of measures where the snare plays by itself. The snare just sounds a tad hollow to me.

Well...

From the songs you've posted, I can tell you have some talent...but this song and Dancing Mad...sound like exact replicas of the Black Mages...it's obvious you're not using their recordings per se, but you are covering them and not the original song. I suppose that shouldn't bother me too much, but I can't very well give you much for originality when it's literally exactly the same in every way.

ZombiePosessor responds:

Sorry bud, but guess what, I covered the Dancing Mad version from the Super Nintendo, not the Black Mages' version, but hey, they didn't add much to it either. And some talent? I think I have more talent than you think, listen to more of my songs.

I like it

RBF rocks, you rock. 'Nuff said. There's been enough criticism about this recording, it's about time somebody said something nice about it.

Wow...

...not only is that not even remotely Ska, that has to be one of the stupidest, most annoying piece of music (if you can even call it that) I've ever heard. Stay away from the Ska portal.

Mogly responds:

of course its ska, its ska rap in our book. and how dare you dis a masterpeice. shame on you

Well...

First of all, it isn't really ska in any way, and I tend to rate things lower when they're out of place.

Don't get me wrong, it was decent, but the July 4th one seemed better if I remember correctly...this song just didn't have much to it. It was just an occasionally-off-key solo over some power chords.

You've got some talent, but I think overall you've missed the mark with this one.

I didn't bother voting on it, NG is glitching and not letting me even though I'm logged in.

mynamewontfitin responds:

Did you wait till the end? Theres some ska chords and shit and so the only real category it fits in is ska. Some stuff is off tempo cuz that's wut audiacity does. It moves thing around a little. Anyways, thank for the review.

Tsk tsk...

There are what, like, 5 good songs in the Ska portal? Seriously, people with no talent (which most definitely include you, seem to just flood here...

Pretty good and works well as a loop

^The topic says it all.

WeedClock responds:

Thanks
